The images I see are revealed either in dream or during a period of watchful awareness.
There was a time when my work was informed by the ancient Greek myths. Spirit Messengers, was a series that I believe, was suggested by these myths. Icarus is one of 13 carved wood sculptures that make up the series.
Shape-Shifter is another in this group. It presents a soaring winged creature of carved poplar and oil paint. Shape-Shifter was a dream image that presented itself in complete detail as it now appears.
