Jamie Dalglish

Jamie Dalglish, noted Painter, Poet, Songwriter and Filmmaker received the Pollock-Krasner Grant in 2006-2007. His Palimpsest Series of works on paper reveal a New York experience over time.  These works allowed Jamie to receive a Polaroid Grant which allowed him to explore a one to one transaction between  Palimpsest works and Polaroid Photos of the same size creating a Fatamorgana.

The extreme richness of the surface is created by way of a frottage or template where paint is scraped and thrown onto the surface to create an abstract photo image.

Lawrence Alloway, former Director of the Guggenheim Museum described Dalglish’s painting as “exceptional, powerful, abstract work.”
