We live in a time of war, ideological clash, environmental change, and economic uncertainty. These are events that require attention and stimulate thought. I try to understand circumstances in a way that makes sense of them but, in fact, they may be just random confusion. For me making art is a refuge from the world’s clutter where I can take an issue and find resolution with in the context of a painting. I use vaguely recognizable imagery coupled with faces in an abstract style that suggests an attempt by humanity to create order of their surroundings.
