I am interested in creating situations where individuals are brought together, either by working as part of a team to weave, build, knit or install- or as a participant in the physical space of a structure or installation. I play with ideas of shared histories and sacred spaces. Structures and sculptures contain opposing and contradictory elements- ancient yet futuristic form, nature reinvented, weight vs. ethereal lightness.
On a small scale I use the same materials of rope, bamboo, steel, and sewing sundries in various configurations to create objects that imbibe complexity and contemplation representing the handiwork craft.
